Climate research at Penn State encompasses various disciplines and approaches to advance our understanding of the Earth's climate system and inform effective strategies for mitigating and adapting to climate change.
Faculty, researchers, and students are involved in cutting-edge studies on topics such as atmospheric science, ecology, energy systems, sustainable agriculture, and policy analysis, among others.
Large Climate Projects at Penn State
This session will introduce several large Penn State climate research projects. Presenters will provide overviews of these projects, review research progress, and present opportunities for collaboration. This session will increase awareness of substantial ongoing climate research at Penn State to enable synergy among researchers within the Penn State community in the areas of:
- Climate impacts and adaptation
- Natural carbon, water, and biogeochemical cycles
- Anthropogenic greenhouse gas monitoring and mitigation
