Research Summary
The Gomez lab is focused on connecting the chemistry, structure, and macroscopic properties of complex soft matter. To this end, we combine synthesis capabilities, characterization tools, such as X-ray scattering and electron microscopy, and in-house device fabrication and testing. A focus of the lab is on examining the structure and structural evolution of materials used in the active layer of organic transistors and solar cells, water filtration membranes, solid electrolytes and composite cathodes used in batteries, and natural polymers that make up plant cell walls.
