Research Summary
Research is focused on defining the role of PPARa in mitochondrial dysfunction associated with drug-induced hepatotoxicity. Perhaps the most critical role of PPARa is to modulate hepatic fatty acid catabolism. Research utilizes mouse models, traditional biochemistry and molecular biology techniques, as well as cutting-edge and highly sophisticated metabolomic approaches to understand the molecular mechanisms associated with PPARa activity.
