2022 Penn State Center for Biorenewables Symposium

Foundational shifts in our understanding of carbon, renewables, and the circular economy are creating dramatic opportunities in the fields of bioenergy and Biorenewables. Penn State's Center for Biorenewables works to catalyze this transformation through research innovation and education relating to biorenewable food, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, materials, and energy.

The 2022 “Biorenewables in a Decarbonized Economy" symposium provides an opportunity to explore new developments in the bioenergy and biorenewables space, related to ongoing research efforts at Penn State and commercial developments at companies and institutions in the region.

The event will include an optional campus lab tour, and a full day of presentations and discussion. A graduate student poster session (with prizes for the top entries) will be held during the midday lunch break.

This workshop is designed for individuals seeking to explore upcoming opportunities for bioenergy and biorenewables in the emerging bioeconomy, and to network with researchers and specialists in this space. Biomass and bioproducts professionals, project developers, policy makers, researchers, and public sector professionals are all encouraged to attend.

The event is free of charge, and will be held in person, with online participation available as well.
