Penn State and University of Auckland announce 2020 joint collaboration projects

In late 2019, Penn State and the University of Auckland launched the Joint Collaboration Development Program, a jointly financed seed-fund program with the aim to foster collaborative research and educational projects. The Office of Global Programs has announced that eight projects have been funded and will officially commence in June.

Digging into the past

Penn State assistant professor Sarah Ivory uses special fossils to study how climate changed in the deep past in some of the driest places on Earth, and how plants, animals and humans responded.
Once a frozen haven, climate-driven rising temperatures are rapidly thawing the Arctic permafrost, posing a major threat to communities and infrastructure. Researchers are investigating how these changes will transform rivers, with potential consequences for erosion, sediment transport, and the entire Arctic landscape.
