Laurie is a research technologist in the Radiocarbon Prep Lab.
She studied anthropology and geology at Penn State. She has worked in many labs, on many projects, with great people, for many years at Penn State, including the Micropaleontology Lab, Geomicrobiology Lab, Critical Zone Observatory, Biogeochemistry Group, Lab for Isotopes and Minerals in the Environment, Earth and Environment Systems Institute, Earth and Mineral Sciences Museum, and Human Paleoecology and Isotope Geochemistry Lab. She is a dedicated science technician who is focused on fostering confidence and practical skills in students, which are needed to work confidently in any science lab. Outside of the lab she tinkers with a 1977 Jeep CJ5, tailors her own style in clothes, quilts, and tramps the forests and mountains of Pennsylvania and the Northeast with her loyal dog, Ben.
