Harman Singh is a graduate student in the M.S. + Ph.D. program. She is interested in conducting research on natural hazards, climate science, and sustainable policy, with a focus on Asian or African countries. In 2019, she began a study on the complex nature of Keralan floods under the supervision of Helen Greatrex and Trevor Birkenholtz.

As a graduate student, She wishes to continue this research by examining weather hazards via a mixed-method or comparative studies approach. In the future, she hopes to study post and pre-disaster preparedness, extreme weather, planned and unplanned land use, and stormwater systems in India along with their relationships with flash flood and/or urban flood events.
