Olivia Boon has a Bachelor’s in Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Delaware, where her interest in climate change adaptation was sparked by her research for the Coastal Resilience Design Studio. She is pursuing a Master of Science in Landscape Architecture at Pennsylvania State University. Her work frames climate change-induced community relocation as a design problem that belongs in the landscape architecture discourse. Her research focuses on Native American communities experiencing climate change impacts, spotlighting the unique challenges posed by sovereign people in vulnerable locations.
