Jie Li is an architecture doctoral candidate and Hamer Center for Community Design researcher at Penn State University, passionate about advancing building energy efficiency and sustainability. Ms. Jie completed her undergraduate degree in HVAC engineering in China, and her master's degree in Building Sustainable Technologies at the University of Nottingham, UK. She worked for about 8 years in China on sustainable building design, simulation, certification, and performance optimization before joining Penn State in 2020. Her current research interests are bridging the gap between the computer-predicted performance of buildings at the design stage and actual performance in the usage stage, aiming to ensure the compliance of the generated built environments and the sustainable goals in practice. This project won second place in the 37th Annual Graduate Exhibition of Penn State, 2022.
