Jessica Kromer is a Ph.D. student in Dr. Luke Trusel’s Cryosphere & Climate Lab (CryoLab).
She earned her B.A. from California State University - Long Beach majoring in Geography and GIS. She earned her M.A. from California State University - Los Angeles majoring in Geography. For her master’s thesis research, she interned at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and used atmospheric reanalysis products and JPL’s Ice Sheet System Model (ISSM) to simulate how differences in surface mass balance derived using information from the reanalysis datasets impact the mass change of the Greenland Ice Sheet.
As a graduate student at Penn State, Kromer is interested in studying cryosphere system interactions in the Antarctic using satellite remote sensing and other observational and modeled climate datasets.
