Research interests include inactivation/control of pathogenic microorganisms in foods by novel non-thermal processing technologies; bioconversion of agricultural raw and waste commodities into value added products such as antimicrobials and biofuels; microbial food safety engineering; industrial microbiology/fermentation; novel technologies such as electrolyzed oxiding water, ozone and pulsed UV; strain development; novel bioreactor designs; optimization; and downstream processing.
