Four acres of Penn State Beaver lawn is about to become a biodiverse meadow that will not only have numerous ecological benefits but will become a living learning environment for students. Arboretum volunteers, staff produce record harvest for food bank donation

Throughout this year’s growing season, volunteers and staff worked to plant, cultivate and harvest a wide variety of produce in the gardens of the Arboretum at Penn State.Those efforts resulted in a record-breaking 2,872 pounds of produce that was donated to help the State College Food Bank in its mission to provide food security to people in Centre County.

Call for 2026 Climate Solutions Symposium breakout session proposals

The Penn State Climate Consortium has announced a call for breakout sessions for the 2026 Climate Solutions Symposium, which will be held May 18-20, 2026, at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center. The call is open to all, though at least one session lead must be a Penn State faculty or staff member. The proposal submission deadline is Jan. 23, 2026.
