Seminar: Gut Microbiome Industrialization and the Rise of Chronic Inflammatory Disease

The Food Science Department and the One Health Microbiome Center are co-hosting the 2025 Healthy Lion Award Lecturer – Dr. Justin Sonnenburg, Alex and Susie Algard Endowed Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at Stanford University. Dr. Sonnenburg is a world-renowned biologist who studies host-microbiome and microbes-microbe interactions in the gut environment to understand how changes in diet, microbial community composition, pathogen exposure, host genotype, and microbiota-targeted small molecules impact health.
