Food, water and energy security remains a pressing challenge for Africa. The Nexus is a framework for integrative modelling of tradeoffs with the objective of advancing synergies in decision making of water-energy-food interactions, which may then have implications other factors such as health and poverty reduction. Penn State faculty have a number of ongoing projects in Africa related to these issues in addition to a partnership with African institutions to build networks and a community of practice that fosters capacity building at the intersection of the water, energy and food (WEF) systems. See  https://wefnexus.org/    This seminar will begin the discussion linking Penn State work in Africa to use of Nexus frameworks and approaches. The seminar is structured around a number of lightning talks about current project activities in Africa, followed by an informal discussion on collaborative opportunities.   Bring lunch - snacks and drinks provided.
