For 2025's annual Colloquium on the Environment, Penn State Sustainability is excited to welcome sociologist, scholar, and author Eric Klinenberg. His latest work looks at the COVID pandemic and other social crises and examines the sociological factors that contributed to better outcomes, highlighting the importance of social capital and social networks in keeping us healthy, happy, and better adapted to cope with disasters.
Please join online and in-person in 118 Katz Building on the Penn State University Park campus. The keynote talk is open to all; however, pre-registration is requested. Parking is available in the Law School parking lot and East Parking Deck.
The Colloquium on the Environment is an annual program started by the Institute of Energy and the Environment and now run by Penn State Sustainability, welcoming renowned sustainability champions to the University. Please contact Grant Rowe (ger5277@psu.edu) with any questions about Klinenberg's visit.
