Actionable Steps for DEI Integration in the Water and Science Community

In order to create an inclusive and equitable environment in the water and science community, we, as leaders and professionals, need to understand what actionable steps we can take and systemic practices we can adopt now. By intentionally changing our behaviors and creating new pathways for participation in our organizations, we will not only make our own agencies stronger, but also create deeper meaning and connection with stakeholders impacted by the work that we do.

Presented by Donnell Duncan, associate vice president at Arcadis, this webinar will present processes with which you may begin to align your organization with intentional DEI practices that will move the needle in the right direction.

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will gain a basic understanding of DEIB definitions as well as the rationale for prioritizing equity over equality.
2. Participants will learn a practical, 7-step DEIB roadmap which they can apply immediately to move their organizations closer toward culture change.
3. Participants will analyze through a case study how several of the steps in the DEIB roadmap have been applied to a large multi-disciplinary organization.
