Research Summary
Kirk French is an Emmy-nominated filmmaker and anthropology professor. He relies on collaborations with descendant communities to assist in the resurfacing of their stories. His projects examine human adaptation to environmental change through a combination of field-based archaeology, ethnographic interviews, and documentary film. Research interests include Maya water management, Mesoamerican culture history, urbanization, public space, human water usage, paleoclimate, human responses to climate change, and documentary film.
