Assistant Professor, Plant Science

Hayden Bock studies the ecology of managed landscapes, with a focus on urban green spaces (e.g., public parks, residential lawns, or ornamental beds). Bock's research connects plants, soils, and the broader urban environment to understand how urban greenspaces are shaped by people’s use and management, and potentially how urban greenspaces may shape human experience and communities. Ultimately, he aims to understand these systems in both a fundamental sense as well as practically, to improve the health, biodiversity, and resilience of our everyday landscapes.
