Conducting research and teaching in the fields of observational and predictive meteorology on size scales ranging from turbulence to synoptic disturbances. Observational research emphasis is on the interactions between convection and its environment. Research efforts include participation in the planning, execution, and data analysis of boundary layer and mesoscale experiments funded by the National Science Foundation, the Office of Naval Research, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Predictive research focuses on the application of statistics and machine learning to data analysis and prediction in Meteorology and related disciplines.
