Anthony Knarr is a Research Technologist in the Environmental Contaminants Analytical Laboratory, where his work is centered around PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) and contaminants of emerging concern analysis.  

Anthony earned his B.S. in Environmental Biology and Ecology, with minors in History and Recreation Management, from Lock Haven University, now Commonwealth University. He has more than a decade of lab experience, including roles as a bench chemist, department supervisor, and lab manager across industrial and commercial labs. Prior to joining the Penn State team, he spent much of his career focusing not only on analysis, but also training others on wet chemistry techniques in drinking waters, waste waters, and solids.  

In his spare time, Anthony enjoys reading novels, as well as traveling and hiking with his wife.
