The meeting – open to all Penn State faculty, staff, and students – was intended for those interested in water and water-related research, education, and outreach and extension. The event was an opportunity to learn about recent Penn State Water activities, contribute to emerging priorities, hear of upcoming events and ways to get involved and explore ideas for collaborating with colleagues. Through Q&A and discussion sessions, attendees actively participated in helping to refine future priority directions, catalyze new interdisciplinary collaboration, and continue strengthening the Penn State Water Community.
The event included a plenary with reports from the Water Council and others on recent and emerging Penn State Water activities. A diverse series of lightning talks then set up concurrent breakout sessions for exploring ways to expand and launch new water education, outreach/extension, and research opportunities.
