Promotion and tenure process workshops offered this spring for faculty

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs has announced the 2023-24 Promotion and Tenure workshop series for faculty on how to prepare for success in the promotion and tenure process.

This series will provide an in-depth exploration of the promotion and tenure process for all Penn State faculty, including tenure- and non-tenure-line.

Workshops offered this semester include:

  • "Transitioning from Associate to Full in a Tenured Faculty Position" — Feb. 8, 11 a.m.–noon. Target audience: Tenured associate professors.
  • "Tips for Writing a Narrative Statement" — Feb. 15, 10–11 a.m. Target audience: Tenure-line and non-tenure-line faculty seeking promotion.
  • "Tips for Creating a Teaching Portfolio" — Feb. 23, 11 a.m.–noon. Target audience: Pre-tenure and non-tenure-line faculty.

This series will be offered live via Penn State’s Zoom platform, and each session will be recorded for later viewing. Audience questions are highly encouraged. Registration is not required to attend.
