Applications now open for CTSI Implementation Science Fellowship Program

Program is open to Penn State researchers interested in applying implementation science to their research programs

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI)’s Implementation Science Core is accepting applications for the Implementation Science Fellowship Program now through May 24. The program provides training and a mentorship network to scientists interested in advancing their implementation science expertise across Penn State campuses.

Implementation science is the bridge that brings evidence-based interventions into real-life settings. This one-year fellowship will provide a solid theoretical, methodological, and scientific foundation for implementation science that can be used in a variety of clinical and community health topics.

Implementation Science Fellowship Program

  • Applications due: May 24 at 5 p.m.
  • Fellow selection: Selected fellows will be notified by June 14.
  • Projects expected to begin: July 1, 2024, and last through June 30, 2025.

The fellowship is for full-time Penn State faculty, at any level, seeking training and a practical learning experience in implementation science. Early-career researchers are encouraged to apply.

The program will fund the awardee’s salary support to an equivalent of up to two course buyouts or, where appropriate, .10 FTE over the course of the fellowship, with the guidance and support of a fellow-identified mentor.

Fellows will also become part of the Implementation Science Core team, attending regular team meetings and working with the team on activities and consultations as part of the fellowship experience.

Interested individuals are encouraged to contact William Calo, wcalo@pennstatehealth.psu.edu, to identify potential mentors before submitting an application.
