Penn State Computed Tomography Users Group Monthly Meeting

October talk is titled "Using CT to Understand Manufacturing Variations of Heat Exchange Devices," presented by Dr. Stephen Lynch, professor of mechanical engineering at Penn State.

Join the Penn State Computed Tomography (CT) Users Group, hosted by the Center for Quantitative Imaging (CQI). This group is open to faculty, students, and researchers across all Penn State campuses who are interested in harnessing the power of computed tomography for their work. All experience levels are welcome, from novice to expert.

The users group meets on the fourth Thursday of the month.

  • Please register to let us know if you will be attending in-person or virtually.
  • In-person attendees will be provided lunch.
  • Win free CT services: There will be a drawing for two hours of free data analysis or post-processing training. (For in-person attendees; cannot be transferred)
  • If attending virtually, you will receive a Zoom link upon registration.

What is Computed Tomography?

CT is a powerful imaging technique that creates high-resolution 3D images of anything from delicate fish specimens to complex electronics. This allows for a non-destructive examination of internal structures, providing valuable insights into their composition and function.

Why join the CT Users Group?

  • Boost Your Research: Discover how CT can answer a wide range of research questions across various disciplines.
  • Network and Collaborate: Meet and connect with fellow CT users at Penn State to share expertise and explore collaborative opportunities.
  • Master CT Techniques: Learn from CQI staff and experienced users about CT capabilities and best practices for maximizing your research impact.
  • Exchange Ideas: Participate in discussions to gain insights from others, share your own CT experiences, and brainstorm future research directions.
  • Sharpen Your Skills: Learn valuable tips and tricks for optimizing scans, image processing, and data analysis.
