The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Hydrogen Shot Summit will convene thousands of stakeholders online to introduce the Hydrogen Shot, solicit dialogue, and rally the global community on the urgency of tackling the climate crisis through concrete actions and innovation. The Hydrogen Shot Summit will be held virtually August 31 and September 1, 2021.

TotalView, a tool available on Penn State’s Roar supercomputer, lets users debug, analyze, and scale high-performance computing applications. This includes highly dynamic, parallel, and multicore applications that run on diverse hardware — from desktops to supercomputers. This session will be led by software engineers from Perforce, the company that owns TotalView.

This workshop is designed for students, staff, and faculty who are new to JupyterLab and Google Colab. The workshop will cover several topics.

Super-resolution Imaging Illuminates New Dynamic Behaviors of Cellulose Synthase During Cell Wall Assembly, presented by Sydney Duncombe, Penn State University

The presentation will focus on recommendations municipalities often receive to install riparian buffers along community streams. The Penn State Agriculture and Environment Center, in collaboration with The Penn State Pasto Agricultural Museum, are hosting two in-person workshops for the FISH Protocol and the Homeowner's Guide to Stormwater. Both events will take place at the Pasto Agricultural Museum, 2710 W Pine Grove Rd Pennsylvania Furnace, PA 16865, just behind Ag Progress Days. The first event, on Thursday August 5 from 6-8pm, will be a family friendly, interactive workshop. This workshop teaches participants how to evaluate and track their nearby stream through a citizen science tool, FISH.

The National Institutes of Health and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy are organizing a series of listening sessions to get feedback from patient advocacy groups, industry, scientific professional organizations, and other stakeholders. These listening sessions will vary in format from broad, public discussions to smaller, invitation-only meetings to discuss more sensitive information. Abstract: Multi-angle light scattering (MALS) is an excellent technique for non-invasive characterization of macromolecules and a wide range of particles in solution. In combination with separation by size-exclusion chromatography (SEC), MALS enables the determination of molar mass distributions without relying on reference standards, making it invaluable for the analysis of polymers, proteins, and polysaccharides.
