The Nittany Divers SCUBA Club is thrilled to announce that Dr. Sylvia Earle will give a presentation on the immediate need to protect our oceans. This event is FREE and open to the public! Parking is available for $1 per hour at either the HUB Parking Deck on Shortlidge Road or the East Parking Deck on Bigler Road. Dr. Sylvia Earle is an author, lecturer, and current Explorer-in-Residence at National Geographic. Recipient of more than 100 national and international awards, Dr. Earle is a pioneer in the scientific community as she works to educate the public on the importance of ocean conservation. In 1990, Dr. Earle became the first female Chief Scientist of NOAA and was named a “Hero for the Planet” by Time Magazine in 1998. She has authored 175 publications, led more than 100 expeditions, and lectured in more than 70 countries.
